Actress, singer, television personality, and most of all FASHIONISTA, the one and only Jessica Ann Simpson is all of the above. Aside from acting and singing, Jessica is also a major force on the fashion scene. She started with a line of beauty products called Dessert. According to celebrityscoops.net, she launched the line in 2004 along with her CEO/Founder Randi Shinder. Sephora.com describes the line as a unique collection of lickable, kissable products that taste as good as they look serving up sweet treats like whipped body creams, lip glosses, and powdered sugar body shimmers that let you surrender to your sweet tooth, minus the calories and carbs.
Besides Dessert, Jessica Simpson has her own self-entitled fashion collection. According to the superstar’s official Facebook page, the company’s overview states that: The products celebrate her iconic, American image that is fashion-forward, accessible, comfortable and timeless. Jessica said in a youtube interview that she has always been interested in fashion and she thinks it is every girls dream to be able to create stuff to make women feel beautiful.
She looks to her family for help with some of her endeavors. Her right hand assistant is her mom. She tells TV Guide.com, that she appointed her mom as creative director of the fashion line. Simpson’s first product was shoes. I personally love her heels. I would describe them as sexy and classy with a flirty edge. I think her shoes cater to the everyday woman including; the business woman, the mom, the student, the intern, just the everyday woman as a whole. Jessica’s line has more to offer than just her amazing shoes. Her line also contains; handbags, denim, eyewear, swimwear, lingerie, clothing and even luggage. The star really has a versatile line that definitely supplies the looks for women of today. Her line is inexpensive and can be found at your everyday department stores like Dillard’s, Macy’s, Nordstrom and online at www.jessicasimpsoncollection.com. Simpson’s all time favorite fashion designer is Donna Karan. Simpson admits that the fashion veteran has as a bit of an influence on the star’s line.
If you don’t recognize Jessica Simpson’s name in relation to fashion, she is associated with several other achievements. Simpson was raised in Dallas, Texas where she began singing at the age of 12 and from then on she experienced great success. She was then signed to the Sony Record Label and toured with then Pop boy group 98 Degrees she met her love interest Nick Lachey, a member of the group 98 Degrees. From their relationship, Jessica starred in their hit reality tv show Newly Weds. Although the relationship did not last, it did not stop Simpson from progressing at all. Following her singing career, Simpson began to make her mark into acting. Debuting her first onscreen presence in “The Dukes of Hazzard,” Simpson’s character was “Daisy Duke.” She starred alongside Country Singer Willie Nelson who was featured in her song for the film: “These Boots are Made for Walking.”
Currently Ms.Simpson is still heavily involved in her fashion line, even dipping her hands into a collaboration with her and younger sister Ashlee Simpson. Eonline says that Ashlee and Jessica are teaming up to create a junior’s collection coming to stores near you. According to time.com, last year, New York magazine noted that Jessica Simpson was on her way to becoming the first celebrity whose fashion line would top $1 billion in sales. Now if that is not winning, I don’t know what is!
