Independent lady turned wife and mother, LaLa Anthony, is unstoppable. She is a radio personality, TV host, actress, reality starlet, model, mother and wife. This star truly does it all. Many of you readers may recognize her from VH1, MTV, or even a few films. This lovely Latina lady is bursting at the seams with fame and she is just getting started. You may be questioning how this diva became famous? Two words will answer that: hard work.
Alani “LaLa” Vasquez Anthony and her family moved to Atlanta, Georgia from New York after she graduated high school. Soon thereafter, she began studying communications at Howard University in Washington, D.C., a famed and highly prestigious communication program. After graduating, the determined diva moved back to Atlanta after she earned her degree and began to embark on a very successful career. Accompanied by (the at the time undiscovered) Ludacris, Mrs. Anthony hosted a popular Atlanta radio show called “Future Flavas.” Shortly after, she moved to LA in 1999 where she hosted another radio show for KKBT.
After some time, MTV caught wind of LaLa’s vibrant and relatable personality. In 2003, the rising star started working for the media company. And as you have seen she hosted a slew of shows from TRL, Direct Effect, and a host of VH1 reality show reunions—not to mention movie roles that include “You Got Served” and “Two Can Play that Game.” When does this woman breathe? In an interview with Latina Magazine, LaLa states, “I’m never satisfied—career-wise, I mean—I’m always looking for the next thing, that’s just my personality.”

After wrapping up “LaLa’s Full Court Wedding” a show centered on the plans and wedding of basketball superstar Carmelo Anthony and LaLa Vasquez, she was ready for more. She began taping her second successful VH1 show “Full Court Life”. As of now, LaLa is the Steve Harvey film “Think Like a Man”, in which she plays a role. It opened at number one. She is also planning to create her own makeup line that caters to all flesh tones. Being of Latina descent and a woman with beautiful curves, LaLa is always trying to uplift her fans. She tells them that in a entertainment world filled with stereotypes, it’s perfectly fine to be yourself. “I encourage people to embrace whatever it is that make them different. Not being like everybody, setting your own trends, being your own person, that’s what makes you cool.”
After all is said and done, LaLa feels that having it all is possible. “Why can’t I be a great mom, wife, TV host, actress, producer, have my own reality show and makeup line? The hard part is balancing it all.”
