
The TVOne chef, Gerry Garvin also known as G. Garvin has taken over kitchens across the nation with his masterly cooking skills and his alluring charisma. Garvin can turn any amateur cook into an experienced Jamie Oliver, the world’s favorite British chef. Garvin is an expert at teaching his viewers to prepare delicious meals while they watch at home because he makes his recipes as simple as possible.
Garvin is well known for his television series The G. Garvin Road Tour, and is also famous for his books, Make it Super Simple, Dining In and many more. His first cookbook, which was named after his television series Turn Up the Heat with G. Garvin, won an American Literacy Award and was also chosen as a participant in the 2006 Library of Congress National Book Festival. Garvin has also developed his own line of cooking spices called the G. Garvin Spice Line that can be purchased online.
The Atlanta born chef started at a French restaurant, which led to a gig at the famous Ritz-Carlton in downtown Atlanta. He later made his way to Los Angeles where he worked as a chef at Kass Bah on Melrose Avenue, and Keyshawn Johnson’s Reign in Beverly Hills. He later became an executive chef at Morton’s and opened his own self-titled restaurant. Garvin was determined to make it big time with his passion for culinary arts.

Garvin’s latest television series G. Garvin Road Tour, airs every Tuesday on the Cooking Channel. He shares his most favored briskets, barbecue and more from his trips to major cities that are famous for the greatest cuisines such as Atlanta, the Carolinas, New York, and Texas.

Garvin launched the One Bite At A Time Foundation to expose teenagers to a better understanding of culinary arts and hospitality and a seven-day sleepover camp. “My job is to say, Listen, you all can’t be Jay Z and Kanye. You don’t have to be a chef; you can be a recipe developer, a general manager or restaurant owner,” said Garvin in an interview with the Journal Sentinel Online. Garvin aims to inspire teenagers to find their passion in culinary arts.
