Imagine every thought lurking the dark corners of your mind being transformed into life. Colors, shapes, patterns, all mounted together into a form of art. This form of art serves as an exact representation of your emotions. It’s like a mood ring transformed into a painting. Michelle Oravitz seems to be an expertise at this craft.
Oravitz is a Miami based award-winning artist. Her vibrant paintings have been seen at various shows and exhibitions such as the SWAN Art Festival, Miami Beach Festival, Femmeart Mimo Art Basel Week and many more. Oravitz has become an expert at channeling her passions through art. Oravitz’s artwork reflects an aura of earthy colors such as yellow, orange, green and blue. In many of her paintings such as Her Ancient Tears, Mother and Her Story, you will see paintings of women. Some are up close portraits and some are full body. Oravitz’s uses her paintbrush as the voice of her emotions to create her beautiful masterpieces. On her website she explains her love for creating artwork, “I sometimes feel like an observer more than an artist. I get moved to do things that I have learned not to question during the painting process. I love what I do and can’t imagine feeling whole without it.”
In her painting, Come With Me, Oravitz uses lively colors to compliment each other in various designed swirls and other different shapes to represent what seems to be the possibilities of life. The painting represents the wonders of life that are available at our figure tips. This painting can be interpreted in many other ways as well. Oravitz’s paintings leave a mystery for us to interpret its exact meaning. Who is the woman behind these paintings? Oravitz is not only an artist, she is a yoga instructor and she studies Ayurveda medicine, a Hindu system of traditional medicine. The New York City born artist uses yoga and meditation as her inspiration for her artwork. As a young girl, Oravitz found her sanity within the pages of books from worldly mystics and sages.

Though Oravitz has always had a passion for creating art, she was not always in the art profession. After earning her Bachelor of Arts degree in Architecture from Philadelphia University, she worked as an architect until she decided that this was not her calling. After having her first daughter, Oravitz returned to her passion for art. She began painting professionally and that is when she discovered her true purpose in life.“To paint the world happy and bring inspiration through my work. I’m one of those people who likes to do a deed a day. I believe that art, like music, has an ability to heal and create a vibration with its’ presence.” said Oravitz.
