Seems like Jimmy Choo’s New Year’s resolution for 2012 was to continue his reputation as one of the most notable shoe designers in the fashion industry. Pumps, sandals, boots, sneakers, you name it, Jimmy Choo is in total domination. Actresses, Stacy Keibler, Kristen Bell, and many others were spotted sporting the latest from Jimmy Choo collections either on the red carpet or while roaming the streets. In 2012, Jimmy Choo collections are now available in two additional locations inviting more international shoppers.  I think its safe to say that Jimmy Choo definitely gets the award for having “to die for” footwear of the year.

After starting the year off by celebrating their 15^th anniversary, Jimmy Choo continued the legacy by launching new products.  In an  interview with The Sun Daily, Creative director, Sandra Choi  reveals the motive behind the unveiling of Jimmy Choo’s second fragrance.  “We want women to feel as excited as they do when they buy a pair of shoes or a handbag.  It looks like an old-fashioned flashbulb.” Said Sandra as she described the appearance of the fragrance. This year, Choo assured that the birth of his new masterpieces would be on display in major fashion districts with room for every shoe to reveal it’s elegance properly.  The modern legendary designer opened his first Netherlands Jimmy Choo store in Amsterdam and his first dual gender store in Hong Kong. Jimmy Choo also made collaborations with contemporary artist to launch his latest collection Rob Pruitt, which is named after an artist famous for his drawing and sculptures. Intending to make room for some of his new 2012 collections like Cruise 13, Choo 24:7 , comfortably on display, Choo also expanded his Bal Harbour boutique and refurbished his Manhasset boutique.

Jimmy Choo has been continuously honored for his hard work and progress with the Jimmy Choo label over the years.  He was honored by the Hong Kong Design Centre for the Outstanding Chinese Designer Award for his achievements. “I am extremely honored and very proud to receive this special award and very grateful for the recognition,” said Choo. The notable designer also became an Honorary Doctor of Arts and received his BA Honours in Footwear Design from De Montfort University in Leicester, UK. Jimmy Choo’s journey all began in an old hospital building that he transformed into his first workshop in 1986.  The first Jimmy Choo boutique was opened in 1996 in London with former Fashion Editor, Tamara Mellon. From then on it was history.  The label has expanded to over 60 retail stores worldwide.

Though Jimmy Choo’s designs may not be affordable for your average female, they seem to have been a hit this year.  Seems like Jimmy Choo lovers have eliminated all budget rules at the sight of Jimmy Choo’s beautiful designs.
