A woman who shines brightly on stage always leaves an everlasting impression on her fans. If she is a brilliant performer, she expresses her confidence in such a way that it can empower and uplift the masses.
Jordin Sparks has this gift. Now 23 years-old, she is no longer the little 17 year-old girl who won American Idol in 2007, she has evolved beyond this point, Jordin became the youngest winner in American Idol history.“I didn’t know it when we were doing the show, but all the interviews and behind-the-scenes stuff prepared me for now, says Sparks,” in a News & Blog interview.
After winning American Idol five years ago, Jordin has released two albums. Jordin has sold over 2 million copies worldwide from her self-titled album. Jordin’s “No Air” single featuring Chris Brown, sold 4 million digital downloads and received the highest selling single by any American Idol contestant. Jordin’s “Battlefield” single also accrued success as a top ten on the Billboard Singles Chart. Since her American Idol days, opportunities continue to arise for the star.
Jordin launched a fragrance, called Ambition, which is available in Bon-Ton Stores or at bon-ton.com. Not only does she have a great sense of smell, but Jordin gave a remarkable performance during VH1′s Divas in honor of Whitney Houston.
Jordin attended the African American Film Critics Association Awards last week, proving to her peers that hard work pays off. She is also working on some new projects to showcase her acting and singing skills.

Sparks may be her last name, but Jordin literally emits sparks of fire when she steps in the room and she knows it. Jordin lets everyone know that she’s every woman and it lives in her by screaming from the top of her lungs “I AM WOMAN,” Jordins single from Disney’s “African Cats” soundtrack. The “I AM WOMAN,” single also known as the theme song for the WNBA was just released after Jordin received the 2011 Most Amazing Bodies title. With her new figure, Jordin has taken her career to the next level.
She made her feature film debut in a remake of the musical film, Sparkle (2012), with the late Whitney Houston, actor Derek Luke, and actress Tika Sumpter. In the film Jordin plays Sparkle, a meek songwriter in Detroit with the ambition to be bigger than singer Diana Ross. In the film Jordin delivers a spectacular performance for every solo that she performs during the film, she reminds the audience that she is an American Idol. Although the actor and actress displayed their best talents on stage does not mean that everyone would actually enjoy the movie.
Critics comment on the film stating, “If Dreamgirls was a diamond, Sparkle is a cubic zirconia: It feels like a cheap imitation of the real estate.”-People Magazine. But regardless of some negativity, Jordin truly has it all a great career, relationship, and a true sparkle.
