Pink Sweat$: Different Is Good

Entertainers and their clothes have always been a hot topic, particularly musicians. I think back to Prince being one of the greatest musicians of all time and his knack for wearing purple and shoes with a heel. Growing up as a Dipset fanatic, one of my favorite pictures is of the Rapper Cam’ron when he rocked the pink fur coat and pink fur hat  with his pink cell phone to his ear, a diamond chain on his neck and on his rings sending viewers into a trance. Sometimes the fashion choices are coincidental, but in their cases it was always intentional. They knew they were at the height of their respective genres, and that their influence was second to none. They took full advantage of that influence and if you don’t believe me? Monica Botkier: Pure and Simple

Choosing the right handbag can be a more daunting task than it seems. Will your bag complement your outfit? Is it large enough to accommodate everything you need, yet small enough that it won’t slow you down? Does the bag project the same qualities that you see in yourself - is it you? Monica Botkier asked herself these questions when designing the Trigger Bag, a cult classic handbag that was the first piece in her fashion line as well as the item that put her on the industry map.

KAWS: Undefined and Undesigned

Sculpture is an entirely different and unique art form; it is tangible and interactive, and almost begs to be touched. Whenever I am strolling through an exhibition and come across a sculpture, I have the sudden urge to touch the surface of it to feel the texture of the piece. I resist this urge and observe from afar, like any dignified museum-goer, but it always makes me wonder why human beings feel the need to respond physically to an art form.

Autumn Peltier: “Water Warrior”

"Many people don't think water is alive or has a spirit, my people believe this to be true. Our water deserves to be treated as human with human rights. We need to acknowledge our waters with personhood so we can protect our waters," Autumn Peltier, international activist, told the diplomats of the United Nations in her 2018 speech. Peltier has been fighting for water protection since the age of 8, and has been deemed  “The Water Warrior,” by the public.
