Daniel Del Core: Fashion by Nature

Beauty is not static. That is the sentiment held by women’s fashion designer, Daniel Del Core, whose clothing is known for its mutant combination of fashion and nature. He creates his designs out of inspiration from the moss, molds, fungi, mushrooms, and all of earth’s forever-growing entities that we find around us and right under our feet when we step outside.

Del Core is a 33-year-old fashion designer. He was born in Germany and is currently based in Milan, Italy. At 16-years-old, he left Germany to study ceramics, sculpture, and art in Italy, but later decided to study visual arts, fashion, and design at the design school, Istituto Europeo di Design in Milan. There, he worked as an intern for some of the world’s most famous fashion brands like Dolce and Gabbana and Versace. His studies eventually led him to become the VIP designer of Gucci under the company’s creative designer, Alessandro Michele. Del Core has had the opportunity to dress celebrities like Lana Del Rey and Bjork while at Gucci.

Ottawa Kwami: A Look Can Change Your Life

In 2018, well-known Ghanaian-American fashion designer Virgil Abloh acted as artistic director for luxury fashion brand Louis Vuitton in Paris, France. There, he presented to the world Ottawa Kwami, who has now become one of the most famous and sought-after male models in the industry at just twenty years old.

Priya Ragu: Believe

The belief in one’s self is an essential part of our success. You have to first believe in yourself and your abilities before you achieve true success. As the legendary tennis player Arthur Ashe once said, "One important key to success is self-confidence. An important key to self-confidence is preparation."  Thirty-five-year-old Priya Ragu, a Sri Lankan singer and songwriter, realized this just a few years ago. For a long time, she wanted to share her music with the public, but admitted that she wasn’t too sure of herself at first.

Christian Siriano’s People are People

Too often have fashion designers styled their collections and individual pieces with a specific body type in mind. Tall, skinny, with the proportions of a Barbie doll has long been the prototype for world-renowned designers in the fashion industry. However, American designer Christian Siriano implements a body of work that completely ignores long-standing traditions of what is considered “beautiful.” 

For this reason, the SCAD Museum of Art in Savannah, Georgia has decided to showcase some of his most notable gowns from over the past decade.
