Dua Saleh: Rule Breaker, Risk Taker & Music Maker

Dua Saleh is a force of inspiration and creative output that no chains have the strength to restrain. The artist uses poetic satire inclusive of sultry, aggressive, and theatrical musicality to transmit awareness for queer rights, police brutality and dive into their Sudanese heritage. Dua is a portrait for young voices and the power to commission change and understanding they hold in today’s society.

Burghàlie Fashion Showcase & Silent Auction

Fashion met charity earlier this month with luxury streetwear brand Burghàlie teaming up with local Atlanta foster care organization Atlanta Angels. Burghàlie handpicked 10 designers to feature in a fashion showcase and silent auction fundraiser. The event took place at the incredible ​​Biltmore Ballrooms, one of Atlanta's premier event venues, on Sunday, March 13th. 

The Florida-found fashion brand, Burghàlie was created by Rashaad Smith and Brandon Jones in 2017 to unite people through fashion and art regardless of race or sexuality. Burghàlie initially started as a service-based organization at Florida State University with a crew of models, photographers, and designers who hosted fashion shows and gave back to their community.

Having a shared interest with your parents is something that you truly appreciate the older you get. As a parent, it’s really cool to see how my oldest daughter is such a good writer. While my youngest daughter has taken to my love for spelling, she’s the youngest student that will be representing her school in the district-wide spelling bee for primary school-aged children.
