Almost every neighborhood across the country had a crew, some even had several. A group of kids who became friends based on their simple love for bikes, and the freedom of being able to explore the surrounding areas, while riding their bikes. In my neighborhood, there were a few biking crews, but there was one that really stood out.

There was a crew that knew how to fix bikes; so everyone in the neighborhood would come to them to get their bikes fixed. Each crew member had bikes that they customized themselves using different parts that they bought from the local bike shop, and spray-painted to give them an even cooler look. Fast forward to our teenage years, a few of them outgrew that phase and most of them graduated from their bike crew.

There are a lot of talented singers and bands out there waiting to be “discovered,” and I’m sure they dream of signing a million-dollar record deal. Most of these artists are usually in their late teens and twenties, they upload performances to YouTube, sign up for TV talent shows, and play at bars to just get some attention and hopefully attract some fans. But the odds are not always in favor of these artists and it is normally hard to get real attention from the music industry. So we might wonder, how did three middle schoolers, get their big break and sign a $1.2 million contract with Sony Music?

What started as one man’s mission to make high-art/decor affordable to a mass market is now a national brand dedicated to independent artwork and showcasing outstanding work by big-name artists.

Martin Lawrence Galleries (MLG) has nine locations across the U.S. They’ve hosted notable works by legacy artists such as American pop artist Andy Warhol, post-impressionist Pablo Picasso, and neo-expressionist Jean-Michel Basquiat, to name a few.

No one pokes the bear quite like Balenciaga among all the high fashion brands in the land. From selling ridiculously expensive coffee cups to “destroyed” sneakers for thousands of dollars, controversy and the Spanish brand seem to go hand in hand. Their latest fashion scandal has caused a massive uproar on Twitter and Instagram following the release of a luxury accessory modeled after literal garbage bags. The controversy has left many wondering if everyday items like literal trash bags can be couture-ified, or is it simply all for the publicity?
