During the height of the COVID-19 Pandemic, Karimah Mcfarlane was Google’s Head of Market Human Resources for the Southeast. She served on regional leadership teams that expanded the company’s presence across the Southeast, and played an important role in mitigating pandemic-related HR crises, such as loss of jobs and life, political and social unrest, and the transition from in-person to remote working expectations. Although the work was inspiring, Mcfarlane desired to have a more direct impact on her community–leading her to quit her job and purchase Buckhead Art & Company in June 2023.
