It’s a rare phenomenon to create a completely new subgenre of sound, but South Korean K-pop boy band Stray Kids managed to do so in an extremely successful way. Initially, the band was criticized for their eclectic musical style, incorporating heavy bass EDM with rock and pop. When compared to the glossy melodies and catchy lyricism of their Korean boy band counterparts, there is obviously a huge shift in genre.
