The pandemic gave Artist Laura Theresia Köhler a chance to find her purpose through painting. She, and others, found solace in her colorful abstract designs, during a time of so much uncertainty. Her goal for her art is to always provide instant happiness and joy to whoever lays eyes on it.

American photographer Deana Lawson creates intimate portraits of Black men and women posed in domestic settings that tell a story of their own. Recently, Lawson was awarded the Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation Prize, considered to be the most important award devoted to photography, and it is given to an artist who has made the most significant contribution to photography.

St. Petersburg Digital Artist Nick Davis shows a “new level of love” with his 2019 “Black is Beautiful” art series. Analyzing the digital artist’s body of work felt like perusing through memories. If you had the pleasure to look through his Instagram, you would find countless portraits displaying various characters and watchful eyes placed in quaint and colorful settings. Profound quotes from historical figures, movies, and songs inhabit the descriptions of each post. In an article for the local Florida newspaper, The Gabber, the artist states: “I believe people can see themselves in the quotes… and the eyes.”
