Atlanta is known for many things: the Georgia Aquarium, Delta Airlines, traffic. And there is a proud and profound rap culture. I’m an Atlanta native (Northside Hospital), and I grew up listening to Outkast, Lil Jon and the Eastside Boyz, and Ludacris. Atlanta rap is just as distinct and realized as west and east coast rap culture, and Atlanta practically oozes with the essence of hip-hop. So, how does an up-and-coming rapper leave their mark on the scene? Where do these talents come from? This is where trap talents like JID, also known as Destin Route, come into play.
