 Known for his bold designs and unwavering activism, Willy Chavarria is an American fashion luminary. He’s originally fromFresno, California,  Chavarria's multicultural heritage, with an Irish-American mother and a Mexican-American father, profoundly influences his work and perspective.

Chavarria's journey into the realm of fashion began during his early twenties when he pursued a degree in graphic design at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. During his part-time employment at Joe Boxer's shipping department, he found his calling in fashion. His dedication and talent secured him an internship with Nicholas Graham, leading to a designer role at Joe Boxer.

What began as a conversation between Najee Dorsey, an Atlanta creator, and a few other colleagues at a dinner in Chicago about the lack of Black representation within the art world blossomed into a movement that took both the internet and the city of Atlanta by storm. 

Dorsey knew that the art world could sometimes be a hard place to maneuver, especially for smaller artists, and he wanted to create a space that would welcome creators with open arms, giving Black artists a chance to grow and be recognized for their gifts.

Appearing on the Copenhagen runway this year was a classic black suit, consisting of a blazer and flowy skirt, draped with red fabric crocheted into solomon knots, intertwined with red roses .   The outfit was paired with a red windbreaker-style jacket and  a matching skirt. The designer’s twist on the “looking through rose-colored glasses” saying caught the attention of fashion junkies everywhere.
