Since the start of the program, there have been several segments reflecting cultural diversity, early childhood education, and children’s behavioral, emotional, and social skills. The show has been celebrated for years for its ability to teach children how to manage conflict in non-aggressive ways in order to understand the perspective of their peers, which has been an influential factor in the television show’s longevity. 

Sesame Street is a show that has changed and adapted with the times, and there are constantly new characters being portrayed to show diversity on the show. For example, the show features different neurodivergent characters like “Jason,” a character with Down syndrome, and “Julia,” a character with autism.
