One of life’s greatest pleasures lies in its simplicity.

Waking up to a gorgeous sunrise, hues of orange and yellow mixing together to glow over the horizon, while the sun’s rays seem to dance like shadows on the ground; laying on your bed, gazing out of the window, allowing the body to simply exist as you take in another breath of air.

These priceless moments are the framework from which Lori Saint Rome draws inspiration. Her artwork centers around humanity and nature,  illustrating just how colorful and simple everyday activities can be.

Moses Ingram started out as a girl with a dream—a dream that like most, was no easy feat. Crediting her mother for getting her into acting, it wasn’t until she was 16 that she decided to take the career seriously. A West Baltimore native, the 28-year-old was faced with adversities as she tried to turn her dreams into reality. From being told by a student adviser she should choose a more “professional career,” to being rejected multiple times by the Juilliard School, it was her unrelenting determination, and the support of her family, that helped her turn her dream into the promising career unfolding before her today.

White walls and four white doors were nestled into a multi-story parking lot in Paris for the Wooyoungmi Fall 2022 show venue. Each time a model walked through one of the doors, they let it shut loudly behind them while a series of slams played on a soundtrack, giving an eerie feel to viewers.

The fashion house’s founder, Woo Young Mi or Madame Woo, was inspired to create this dramatization by Amor Towles’s 2016 novel “A Gentleman in Moscow,” where a Russian count was sentenced to house arrest for life, and its parallels with the ongoing pandemic.

It’s nearly every young man’s dream to become a pro athlete growing up. Despite how difficult that dream is to accomplish, for many of us in the Black community, it feels like the weight of the world can be lifted from our shoulders if we work hard enough to make that dream a reality. So we strive, sacrifice, and do whatever is necessary to achieve that goal, regardless only a small percentage of us actually reach that goal.
