Influenced by his personal memories, films, and dreamlike abstract imagery, this British contemporary artist is one of the most influential today.

Peter Doig’s paintings are characterized by their focus on landscapes and figures, while also illustrating his life story. Doig, at first, had no real ‘natural’ drawing skill and would often use photographic stills to improve his talents. “I want to make paintings using photos as a reference, the way painters did when photography was first invented,” said Doig to Art Net.
