Whether you’re on social media or not, you may have  heard some of , Tyla’s, songs, such as “Water” and “Getting Late.”

Tyla's hit “Water” became the first solo song by a South African musician to appear on the Billboard Hot 100 chart since 1968. Her music is deeply tied to her culture and features a lot of amapiano, a sub-genre of house music that emerged in South Africa in the mid-2010s. Her debut song, “Getting Late,” first started her signature blend of pop sensibilities with the groovy percussive sounds of Amapiano.
