It’s rare in hip hop for an artist to reemerge successfully after being off the scene for a while, but what’s even more surprising is when the artist comes back stronger than before. There’s only one exception currently to this rule and it's Atlanta raised rapper Gucci Mane aka “East Atlanta Santa” aka “Guwop.” Some fans questioned the validity of the new and improved  Gucci saying he was a clone. This took place after Guwop served three years in prison and was released months early in June 2016.

Beauty standards are not universal. The societal view of conventional beauty in high fashion is generally thin, white women. The shift towards Afrocentric models began with the rise of supermodels like Grace Jones, Beverly Johnson and Iman in international fashion markets. Their striking good looks, exotic dark skin and strong-willed charisma paved the way for Black models for decades including the illustrious Nyanyai Deng. This southern Sudanese model from the Wau Village has modeled for numerous glossy editorials since her 2004 debut after being scouted at modeling audition in her early teens. The model's fascinating beauty garnered her lucrative modeling gigs although she no longer models consistently since the birth of her children.
