When visual artists discuss their career paths, they often say their passion for creating art has been evident since childhood. Most artists, from the underground to world-renowned, speak on how their passion for art has guided their route through life. They typically check all, or most of, the boxes of life and career milestones for aspiring artists: begin creating art at a young age and eventually move to a popular city like New York to gain more recognition and attempt to make a living. However, for the visual artist Taha Clayton, this was not exactly the case.
