Too often have fashion designers styled their collections and individual pieces with a specific body type in mind. Tall, skinny, with the proportions of a Barbie doll has long been the prototype for world-renowned designers in the fashion industry. However, American designer Christian Siriano implements a body of work that completely ignores long-standing traditions of what is considered “beautiful.”
For this reason, the SCAD Museum of Art in Savannah, Georgia has decided to showcase some of his most notable gowns from over the past decade.
