Heartbeat_ATL: Bringing Back the Love

013122 Atlanta: --TURNING THE GULCH INTO A HEARTBEAT OF ART-- Artist/curator Courtney Hammond stands on part of the heartbeat-based art installation she helped create where Centennial Yards has turned the Gulch into a Heartbeat ATL art installation on Monday, Jan. 31, 2022, in Atlanta. People have described the area to be a ”hole in the heart" of Atlanta for years, a boring expanse of parking lots. Centennial Yards, the folks building a work-play-shop area there, teamed with some local artists to create a heartbeat-based light installation that can be triggered by a website you can got to by scanning QR codes set up around the area. “Curtis Compton / Curtis.Compton@ajc.com”`

In times like today, where people are more and more disconnected from each other due to the ongoing pandemic, it’s important to take a step back and reconnect, even if we can't physically do so. Heartbeat ATL is an immersive, free interactive experience located in the Downtown Atlanta area, that allows visitors to reconnect through art. It gives people a chance to share and receive love without physical interaction.
