Rough, scratchy vocals; deep, humming guitars; thundering drums; and jangling keys. From the dawn of rock in the 60s and 70s to now, these have become the defining elements of “Americana” music.
They have been reworked, interpolated and reorganized time and time again, each iteration giving way to a fresh, head-bobbing sound. For Bristol band Oswald Slain, “Americana” isn’t an origin; it is a feeling. And with their new EP “Kiss Me On The Mouth,” Oswald Slain’s co-founders Charlie Fitzgerald and Rhii Williams breathe life into these rock elements, crafting a collection that is not only impressively fun, but introspectively nostalgic.
