Alexander Wang: If Clothes Could Talk

Alexander Wang went to (and later dropped out of) Parsons School of Design. He interned at Teen Vogue and worked alongside Fashion Designers Derek Lam, and Marc Jacobs and then he started working on his own collection. Wang launched his fall 2007 collection of women’s clothing inspired by 80’s hip-hop (with a chic twist, of course) which sold to more than 200 stores. He was awarded the Vogue/Council of Fashion Designers of America “Fashion Fund” title in 2009. In that same year, he won the Swarovski Womenswear “Designer of the Year,” and Wang was also the recipient of the Swiss Textiles Award
